Columbia, SC (WLTX) - There will be several eventsin Columbia Mondayto honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..

The annual King Day at the Dome Celebration will begin with a prayer service at Zion Baptist Church on Washington Street at 8:30 a.m. After the service is completed, everyone will march to the State House for the rally, which is set to get underway at 10:15.

There will also be an eventat the Martin Luther King Community Center in Columbia.A wreath laying will take place thereat 3:06 at the historic marker at the corner of Harden and Greene Streets.

And beginning at 4 p.m.in the MLK Community center there will be several performances by local schools to celebrate the achievements and legacy of Dr. King.South Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Toal is this year's keynote speaker.
