Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - The Lexington County Sheriff's Department has arrested three men for breaking into homes near Lexington.

Sheriff James Metts said detectives arrested 17-year-old Alexander Rhodes Jeffcoat, 18-year-old Colin Tyler Soles, and 19-year-old Zachary Rabon Varney. Each were charged with two counts of first-degree burglary, one count of second-degree burglary, and one count of criminal conspiracy.

Deputies say the three men broke into two homes in the Lexington area, stealing guns and electronic equipment. According to officers, they attempted to break into a third home, but the homeowner was home at the time and reported the incident to the Sheriff's Department.

The Sheriff's Department said that based on the descriptions given by the homeowner, a detective was able to locate the suspects nearby and arrested them.

The three are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on $320,000 bail.
