Ridgeway, SC (WLTX)- BOMAG Americas is planning to establish its North America headquarters in Fairfield County.

The company made the announcement Wednesday during a rainy and muddy ceremony near Ridgewaywith Governor Nikki Haley.

"BOMAG could have gone anywhere in the country to locate their new headquarters and they chose Fairfield County, South Carolina," said Governor Haley.

BOMAG Americas makes milling machines, asphalt pavers and other road building equipment.

"They are an anchor tenant in an incredible park that has been put together by council in Fairfield County," said Mike Briggs.

Briggs is the president of the Central South Carolina Alliance. They have represented Fairfield County for 20 years in their economic development efforts.

"The business friendly atmosphere and attitude in South Carolina leads to a lot of this but never the less it takes a lot of work," said Briggs.

The 18.2 million dollar investment is expected to bring in 121 new jobs over the next five years. Construction is expected to begin in March.
