Edgefield County, SC (WLTX) - Edgefield County has seen its second earthquake in less than two days.
The U.S. Geological Survey says a 3.2aftershock struck Edgefield County at 3:23 p.m. Its epicenter was 7 miles west of the town of Edgefield, and about 60 miles from Columbia.
This one isalmost in the same exact area as Friday night's quake, which had a magnitude of 4.1. That quake could be felt for 150 miles in multiple directions, including in Atlanta and Greensboro, North Carolina. Previous Coverage:4.1 Earthquake Strikes Edgefield County
No structural damage happened in that quake. It was the strongest tremor in South Carolina in 13 years, andamong the strongest in the state over the last 40 years.
Sunday's quake was far weaker, and therefore was felt over a much smaller area.
South Carolina Emergency Management officials say our state experiences about 15 to 20 minor quakes each year.
