COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - State officials are set to release details on South Carolina's unemployment picture for the month of June.
On Friday, the Department of Employment and Workforce is scheduled to release last month's jobless numbers.
State unemployment in May was 5.3 percent, which was unchanged from the month before. Federal officials said that figure was 2.6 percent lower than a year ago and represented the largest year-to-year drop in the country.
When South Carolina's unemployment initially fell to 5.3 percent in April, officials said that figure was the state's lowest level in 13 years.
