Sumter County, SC(WLTX)- Two people found dead after a house took place in Sumter. The Sumter County Fire Department and the Sumter County Sheriff's Office responded Saturday to 1324 Barnwell Drive in regards to a house fire with possible entrapment.

Upon arrival the home was discovered to be fully engulfed in flames and the occupants were unaccounted for.

After the fire department was able to get the fire under control, and extinguish the flames, firefighters discovered human remains. While still searching through the fire debris, firefighters discovered a second set of human remains.

A witness reported to law enforcement that when they noticed flames coming from the back side of the residence, they saw a small white car leaving the driveway at head north on Barnwell Drive at a high rate of speed.

Law enforcement was able to determine that the homeowners had three vehicles in their names, and only two of them were parked at the residence. The third vehicle is a white Honda Accord.

Law enforcement put out an alert for the white Honda Accord with it possibly being occupied by 20 year old Joseph Manners. Joseph Manners is the grandson of the homeowners of 1324 Barnwell Drive, and he is from the state of Kentucky.

Sunday morning, law enforcement agencies in the state of Kentucky spotted the white Honda Accord, and attempted to stop the vehicle. After the driver refused to stop, a vehicle chase began that involved officers from several different agencies.

Eventually the chase ended and the driver was apprehended by officers in the state of Ohio. The driver was identified as being Joseph Manners, and at this time, he will be extradited back to Sumter South Carolina for the charge of Arson. The human remains that were discovered at the fire scene are pending identification through autopsy.
