The USDA believes a beef recall is larger than it was first suspected.

The federal agency thinks the contaminated beef from a California-based meat producer may have reached over 30 states, including South Carolina.

Thousands of retailers, including large grocery chains, received the beef products from Rancho Feeding Corporation, including Hot Pockets.

The company recalled more than eight million pounds of meat in mid-february.
