Sumter County, SC (WLTX) -- The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one person is dead following a wreck that occurred Friday evening in Sumter County.
Troopers say the head-on collision happened just before 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 15 North and White's Mill Road.
A 2006 Dodge Charger, driven by 38-year-old James Wilson failed to yield on a left hand turn onto White's Mill Road, when he collided with a 2011 Toyota Camry.
The passenger in the front seat of the Dodge Charger was killed, while two children in the backseat were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The four people in the Toyota were all taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Troopers say all occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts.
Wilson was charged with failure to yield the right of way.
The Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
