Greer, SC (Greenville News) -- Firefighters believe a brush fire that burned out of control damaging at least two homes has been contained, a Greer firefighter said.
"I think they've got everything at least contained," Capt. Paul Brown of the Greer Fire Department said. "They're not worried about it spreading."
No one was being evacuated, he said.
He didn't know if anyone was in the homes or if anyone had been hurt.
Firefighters from six fire departments and EMS are on the scene, with another department standing by if needed, he said.
A ladder truck from Pelham Batesville was being used to douse flames coming from a multi-dwelling structure.
The call came in a 2:45 p.m. Gladstone Way, he said.
It involves the Riverwood Farm community in Greer.
