Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- An attempted armed robbery took place early Sunday morning near USC's campus.

The USC Division of Law Enforcement and Safety's crime bulletin says the incident took place around 1:05 a.m. Sunday near the 700 block of Pickens Street.

According to the report, a male was approached by three other males in a white 4-door sedan just after 1 a.m. on Pickens. One of the suspects was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, exited the vehicle and drew a gun. The second suspect was wearing a white jacket and a NY hat. There is not a description available for the third suspect. The victim fled the scene when he saw the gun, and the suspects drove away towards Gervais Street.

Nothing was stolen and the victim was not hurt.

The case is under the investigation of the Columbia Police Department.
