Richland County, SC (WLTX) -- State troopers are looking for help solving a fatal hit-and-run that happened Saturday night. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said 31-year-old Shicolla Norwood died as a result of trauma from the crash.
"She didn't deserve that right there. I mean whoever hit her should have stopped, they could have probably saved her life," said Derwin Wright, Norwood's boyfriend.
He says he walked outside his home on Leesburg Road Saturday night when Norwood did not return from a trip down the road to a convenience store. He found deputies and an accident scene.
I didn't think about it was her," he said.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says evidence from the scene has led them to search for a 2012 to 2014 Honda CRV. They don't know the color of the vehicle, but say it will have damage to the grill.
"We have an innocent person who was struck and killed by a vehicle who left the scene especially this time of the year when you get close to holidays, there's a mother and a father and a family who's mourning this tragedy. They need closure, they need to know what happened," said Lance Cpl. David Jones.
Wright is calling for the driver or on anyone with information to report it.
"I don't know who did this, but whoever did this they need to step forward and man up or woman up or whatever and step forward because she's got two kids, she's got a family, she's got friends. We wanna know who did this," said Wright.
If you have any information that can help investigators you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
