Columbia (WLTX)-- News19 WLTX was honored with the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award Wednesday in the documentary category.

"JFK: I Was There" is a documentary told through the eyes of Sumter native Jim Felder. Felder lead President Kennedy's funeral. Felder's career in the military started at Fort Jackson before he was chosen to be in the honor guard in Washington, DC.

JR Berry and Neel Dhere wrote the documentary. Chris Kyle, Barry Anderson and Laura Hensley were the photojournalists.

The Radio Television Digital News Association has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Murrow set as a standard for the profession of electronic journalism.
