Sumter, SC (WLTX) - Shaw Air Force Base has been taken off lockdown following what's described as a perceived threat Monday afternoon.
It's unknown what the perceived threat may have been, but Air Force officials decided to issue the lockdown around 12:15 p.m. as they worked to secure the situation. They say a perimeter was established in the area where the threat took place.
After about 90 minutes, the area was cleared by security officials and the lockdown was lifted.
Base officials say there were no injuries or shootings on-base.
