Wednesday morning, Janie Young was just over halfway towards her $10,000 goal for a new service dog. On Thursday, she got the call that it had been met.

While that was surprising enough, Young was even more shocked to see Graham Nash's signature on the final $4,300.

"I was in total shock because I didn't expect it," said Young. "I didn't ask him, they just said you need a dog let's do it."

Young met the men of Crosby, Stills and Nash in the 80's and has remained friends with the band since, as shown by the pictures and signatures covering her apartment's walls.

The group was in town for a concert on Wednesday when they heard the fundraiser was tapering off. Nash then secretly donated the rest.

While News19 was at her apartment, the musician called Janie to talk about why he took action.

"The truth is that we all need help in this life. What little I can do to help Janie with her life, I will do because she's an incredibly great spirit, she's always been very positive, she's always been very funny, she's always been a remarkable person in our lives," said Nash. "We're just glad to be able to help."

Young had turned to GoFundMe in June after her 7-year-old Golden Retriever, Zuma, lost her battle with cancer.

Diagnosed with Cerebal Palsy and going through treatment for cancer, Young relies on her service dog to help open doors, turn on lights, get up and down elevators and change.

"The agencies around the four or five state area is a three-year waiting list," said Young. "I don't have three years to wait for a dog, I needed one yesterday."

Now instead of waiting years, Young has already been matched to a dog and plans to meet her on Saturday.

She hopes to have many years with her new yet-to-be-named best friend, all thanks to an old friend.
