Horry County, SC -- The couple arrested Friday in connection to the disappearance of 20-year-old Heather Elvis from Myrtle Beach will be charged with her murder, according to Horry County Police.
CBS Myrtle Beach affiliate WBTW reports that in a Monday morning press conference, Horry County Police Chief Saundra Rhodes said Sidney and Tammy Morrer are now charged with the murder of Heather Elvis. The two were arrested Friday and charged with her kidnapping, along with obstruction of justice and two counts of indecent exposure.
The indecent exposure charges, both for Tammy Moorer, appear to be from incidents on December 17th and 18th of last year, and the Obstruction of Justice charges stem from Tammy Moorer allegedly providing misinformation to police regarding Elvis's disappearance.
Volunteers spent countless hours distributing flyers, searching woods and ponds near where her car was located, and tens of thousands have joined a Facebook Page set up by Elvis's father trying to help spread the word of her search.
