Newberry, SC (WLTX) - Newberry County deputies are searching for whoever vandalized school bus tires at Mid Carolina Middle School Monday morning.

Sheriff Lee Foster said drivers noticed the problem when they arrived for work. He said numerous buses had damaged by having their tires flattened or damaged.

While an exact number has not been determined, Foster said it appears more than 100 tires were damaged.

Foster said the problem didn't affect the start of school, and many parents brought their children to school. He said maintenance crews from other districts are coming to to help repair the vehicles.

He adds that a substantial reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.
