Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies have found a statue that had been taken from Maxcy Gregg Park in Columbia.

Deputies say a deputy patrolling in the county found the sculpture Monday in a wooded area near Barnes and Childs Streets. That area is just off Bluff Road near Interstate 77.

Sheriff Leon Lott says the statue, which is part of the park's cancer memorial, was taken last spring.

Columbia Police are still looking for information on who may have stolen the statue. Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC, or e-mail a tip in to www.midlandscrimestoppers.com. You can also text information in by texting "TIPSC" plus your message to CRIMES (274637). Either way you choose, your identity will remain anonymous, and you could be eligible for a cash reward.
