Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) - Orangeburg County deputies are searching for a man they say fractured his two-year-old son's leg.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says he wants to find 24-year-old Michael Anthony McClellan.

Ravenell says back on March 25th, McClellan's son was taken to the Regional Medical Center after suffering an injury. Initially, officers believed the fracture happened while the boy was playing on a bed. However, officers say their investigation concluded that McClellan had assaulted the child.

"Any adult that can use enough strength on a helpless child to damage a bone, should not be hiding out from law enforcement," Ravenell said. "To the family members and friends who are helping him allude authorities, assisting a fugitive is a criminal act too."
