Sumter, SC (WLTX) - A judge has denied bond for a man accused of killing a woman with a hammer over the weekend.

Jason Dustin Compton, 33, was in court Tuesday afternoon.

Last Saturday, Sumter County deputies say Compton repeatedly hit a woman with a hammer inside a home on Bethel Church Road. Officers say he also assaulted the victim's teenage daughter and a 46-year-old disabled woman. During the ordeal, officers say he tried to get the females in the home to take off their clothes.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Compton is charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, attempted criminal sexual conduct with a minor, and attempted criminal sexual conduct first degree.
