Orangeburg County, SC (WLTX) - Orangeburg County deputies have arrested a couple they say cooked methamphetamine in their home while children were inside.

Kristen Elizabeth-Vaughn, 27, and Johnathan Eric Vaughn, 28, are facing multiple charges, including unlawful neglect of a child.

Officers say on Wednesday, they got several complaints that there was a possible meth lab at a home on Menefee Court in Cordova. When they went to the house, they found bottles outside the place that officers say contained material from a meth cook.

When they searched inside, officers say they found other items associated with a meth lab.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says Johnathan Vaughn admitted to making meth at the home, and Kristen told them she would purchase pseduoephedrine for him to process the drug.

Investigators determined that while the drugs was being cooked, six children ranging in age from six to 14 years old were at the home. Some of the children were the couple's kids, while others were relatives.
