Kershaw County, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County deputies arrested a man who they say stabbed and beat his wife early Wednesday morning.

Joey Matthew Tyner, 38, has been booked and charged with attempted murder.

Around 5 a.m., officers got a 9-1-1 call from Tyner's wife, saying that she'd been attacked by her husband. When officers arrived at the couple's home, they found the victim walking down the street in front of the house.

Officers reported that she was bleeding from head injuries and had a stab wound to her arm.

When deputies went up to the home, they found blood stains on the porch and throughout the house, according to officers, Tyler was passed out in the bedroom and appeared to be intoxicated.

The wife was taken to the hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews say Tyner, has previous arrests for criminal domestic violence and assault.
