Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Columbia police say a suspect ran over another man with a car following an argument Thursday night.

The incident happened in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Millwood Avenue, not far from where the road crosses Gervais Street.

According to officers, the suspect and a woman were sitting inside a car when the victim came up to the vehicle and started arguing with the suspect. Police say at first, the victim walked away; moments later, however,he returned and started arguing with the suspect again.

At that point, witnesses told police the suspect drove toward the victim, hit him with the vehicle, then left the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officers say the car is possibly a light-colored Mitsubishi Diamante or Galant. The vehicle should have damage to the the hood, and a missing hubcaps on the front driver and back passenger sides.

Police have released surveillance images of the car.
