Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies are searching for a suspect who stole a woman's purse at Walmart, then briefly dragged her with his vehicle.

The incident took place around 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the Walmart on Killian Road in northeast Richland County.

The woman was loading her groceries in her car when the man walked up to her, grabbed the pocketbook, then ran. The woman ran after him to try to get back her belongings.

The suspect then jumped into his 2000 model Honda Pilot. As he was pulling off, the victim grabbed on to her purse inside his vehicle, but the suspect continued to drive, dragging her several feet before she lost her grip.

The woman was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries to her upper and lower body.
