Richland County, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies are crediting a security guard with stopping a robbery before it started.
Officers say the guard noticed a suspicious vehicle at the Whiskey Tavern on Zimalcrest Drive around 2 a.m. Friday. Sheriff Leon Lott says the guard then saw two suspects getting out of the car and putting on masks. When he tried to stop them, officers say the suspects ran away.
The other suspects stayed in the car, and were arrested by responding officers. Deputies were able to catch the other two men near the business.
Officers have identified the suspects as 24-year-old Steven Johnson, 25-year-old Tashon Hurell, 19-year-old Russell Pringle, and 25-year-old Steven Coffee. All are charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
