Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Richland County deputies want to find a suspect they say beat up an employee at a local grocery store.

Officers say back on May 29th at 2 p.m., the suspect entered Cheapo Groceries on Two Notch Road.

According to investigators, the person tried to steal items from the store. When the employee confronted him, officers say the suspect began hitting the victim, and even threw merchandise at the victim

The suspect then left the store. The employee was taken to the hospital where he got treatment for cuts and bruises.
