Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Camden High School and Fairfield Magnet Schools have been named "Palmetto's Finest."

The announcement was made Wednesday.

The awards are given annually by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators. They recognize schools that have excellent teachers and leadership, strong community involvement, and a supportive business community. A committee then gives a comprehensive review of the school to see the impact the school is making on the community.

"The Palmetto's Finest award winners represent the many innovative schools in our state," said SCASA's Molly Spearman in a statement. "They are community centers of learning where students are given personalized instruction and high expectations."

Joining the two Midlands schools are Midland Elementary in Galivants Ferry, Okatie Elementary in Beaufort County, and Forestbrook Middle in Myrtle Beach.
