Investigators are talking to one person; police also said they've interviewed several witnesses

Lexington, SC (WLTX) - Lexington police are interviewing a person of interest in connection with the stabbing death of a Dutch Fork High School student.

Officers say officers have detained the person for questioning. No charges have been filed.

Monday night, 17-year-old DaVon Capers was stabbed outside the Cookout restaurant on West Main Street in Lexington. Paramedics took Capers to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say they were able to interview several witnesses after the crime. Police believe the killing may have stemmed from an argument.

Capers was a senior at Dutch Fork High School and also played for the football team. Tuesday morning, students held a moment of silence for him.
