Sumter, SC (WLTX) - The South Carolina Forestry Commission says a 200-acre fire that charred a wooded area in Sumter County is now contained.

The fire is along Live Oak Road near the Lee County line.

Forestry officials say the fire began on private property when a controlled burn got out of hand.

The fire is one of several that have sparked across the region Thursday, fueled by high winds and dry conditions.
