Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The COMET bus service has launched a new pilot flex route in northeast Richland County.

This service will provide curbside service to riders looking to connect to existing fixed routes which are College Place, State Park, and Fairfield Road.

Reservations must be made by 5 p.m. the day before. Vans that can seat 13 passengers and 4 wheelchairs will be used instead of large buses during the pilot.

The pilot will run from now until august 24th, and will be free of charge within that six months. The total project cost is around $50,000.
