West Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A fire destroyed a home in West Columbia Thursday morning.

The fire took place at a home Lazy Pines Drive.

It's unclear right now what led to the blaze, but officials say the place is a total loss.

West Columbia Fire Chief Wyatt Coleman says the person who lived at the house was at work when the fire took place. No injures were reported.

West Columbia police had to close Lazy Pines and Hook Avenue from Lazy Pines to Holland Street while crews dealt with the situation.
