Girl was riding her bicycle, when according to SC Highway Patrol, she went through a stop sign and made a wide right turn into an oncoming vehicle.

Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) A 10-year-old girl on a bicycle collided with a car Wednesday afternoon in Orangeburg according to S.C. Highway Patrol Sgt. Bob Beres.

The accident happened at 5:36pm at the intersection of Beason road and Rosedale drive.

According to Highway Patrol, the girl was riding her bicycle on Rosedale road when she went through a stop sign, made a wide right turn onto Beason road and collided with a 1999 Ford Mustang.

The driver of the car was not injured, the child was taken by helicopter to area hospital. No word on her condition.

The accident remains under investigation by the highway patrol.

According to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones, the girl is still in the hospital as of Thursday afternoon, and is in stable condition.
