Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Richland County Coroner Gary Watts says a Columbia child died of an infection caused by E. coli bacteria.

The two-year-old girl passed away Tuesday at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia. She'd been transported there from babysitter's home in an apartment complex on Ripplemeyer Avenue.

Watts says he normally does not report deaths from natural causes, but he released it to make it clear that no abuse of any kind or lack of care was involved in the death.
