Columbia, SC (WLTX) - It's not every day that a fan gets to own a piece of Gamecock history. . . like an entire basketball court.

"It struck me as the most unique piece of memorabilia that I've e ever seen for sale," said Dylan Johnson.

When Johnson heard that the court in the Carolina Coliseum was going to be sold by the state and suggested to be painted over, he jumped at the opportunity to save a piece of history.

"Other than my house this is the most expensive thing I've bought other than my house."

Johnson and his business partner won the floor in an auction for a little more than $20,000 dollars.

He now wants to sell the entire court for close to or pieces of it for people to keep at home or work.

"I ran my hands down one of the pallets because I could see the scuff marks in the wood and I appreciate history, so for me it was inspiring to think of all the history that happened on that court. "

They are selling the entire court via Craigslist for close to $98,000 dollars. If that doesn't work out they will sell pallets that cost anywhere from $500 to $1,000. (http://bit.ly/1mvHUiB)

His background is in machinery- Johnson has a lot of ideas for what it can be used for.

"We have the ability to turn the panels into wall hanging art, conference room tables, dining room tables; you could make a unique man cave type setup with it."

He didn't grow up in the Midlands but since he's been in Columbia, Johnson says Gamecock fans are the most passionate fans he's ever seen.

"I'm not a big basketball fan but I watch football and I do a few other hobbies on the side. But the fan base here is truly into their Gamecocks. "

And if the price isn't to your liking; he's willing to negotiate, only if "The Price is Right!"
