He says the deputy initiated a traffic stop on Clemson Road and Sumter tried to elude the deputy.

Officials says Sumter lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a mailbox Curvewood Road and Summit Terrace Court.

He was transported to Providence North East Hospital with non life threatening injuries to his lower body.

Deputies say Sumter did not have a concealed weapons permit for a handgun found in his possession.
