For the Republican nomination for education superintendent, Molly Spearman defeated Sally Atwater, while Tom Thompson topped Sheila Gallagher to win the Democratic nod. Spearman and Thompson now advance to the general election.

In Lexington County, Ned Tolar upset incumbent Bill Banning in the GOP race for County Council Seat Eight. Kershaw County Republican voters picked Julian Burns over Ben Connell for the Council Chair contest.

Voter turnout across the state was extremely low, with only around 7 percent of registered voters showing up to vote.
