A little over 9,000 voters turned out for Tuesday's special election to decide who would become the new coroner for Lexington county.

Lexington, SC (WLTX) Margaret Fisher is the winner of the special election for Lexington County coroner beating Brian Setree.

In unofficial results Fisher gathered 5,489 votes or a little over 58% and Setree received 3,882 a little over 41% of votes.

Over 9,000 voters turned out for Tuesday's special election to decide who would become the new coroner for Lexington county.

Former coroner Harry Harmon who had been coroner for Lexington county since 1977 died in April after complications from a car accident and Earl Wells was appointed to take over the office on an interim basis.
