Columbia, SC (WLTX) - One man has been arrested and another questioned in connection with an early morning armed robbery and assault.
Lt. Curtis Wilson with the Richland County Sheriff's Department says Christopher Davis, 35, has been charged with robbery, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The incident took place at approximately 12:30 a.m on Crane Creek Drive.
Two victims told deputies that two men, one with a shot gun, the other with a hand gun, approached them and demanded money.
One victim was struck in the upper body with a shot gun.
The victims said one suspect fired shots in the air and drove off in a SUV.
They told deputies that the men crashed the SUV and fled on foot.
Deputies later responded to the 100 block of Gloria Trail in regards to two males ringing doorbells and knocking on doors.
Officials located the men and were able to identify them as the two suspects in the earlier armed robbery and assault.
Davis is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
