Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A sad update in a story we've been following for more than a year.

In February of 2013, we told you the story of Richard Culliver. Richard was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor when he was in the second grade.

It all began when Richard started falling more than a usual 2nd grader in October of 2012. A trip to the emergency room showed that Culliver had an inoperable brain tumor, something that normally carries a 9-12 month lifespan past the diagnosis.

However, last September doctors took new brain scans that showed his tumor had shrunk, allowing him to gain some of his motor skills back. But last week, his mother announced on Richard's Facebook page that his health had taken a turn for the worse.

His mom says his tumor is back and he's only been given a short time to live. In order to help with medical bills, the Lexington Community quickly organized a fundraiser for this Sunday.

Rockin' For Richard will be held this Sunday from 3-6 p-m at Moonshiner's Bar and Grill in Lexington. Local musicians will put on the free show, but donations will be collected.

Richard's mom previously told us that his faith helped him along, and he knows he's going to see Jesus.
