Lexington, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County Sheriff's Department detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at about 7 p.m. on Tuesdayoutside a home on Dubbs Avenue near West Columbia.

Two men have been arrested.

Lexington County Sheriff Lewis McCarty said one man was shot in his upper torso. The gunshot wound does not appear to be life threatening.

The man who was shot was acquainted with the men who shot him with a handgun, McCarty said.

At least two of the men who were involved in the shooting incident drove away in a Ford Expedition sport utility vehicle, McCarty said. Telecommunications operators at the Lexington County Communications Center communicated a be on the lookout bulletin or BOLO for the Ford Expedition to law enforcement officers, including the license plate for the vehicle.

A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper conducted a traffic stop on the Ford Expedition on Interstate 26 near Clinton in Laurens Count. The trooper arrested two men in the vehicle and recovered a handgun in the vehicle. The two men face charges in Laurens County in connection with the traffic stop.

Officers identified one of suspects as 38-year-old Juan Hernandez Torres, who officers believe is the one who shot the victim. He will be charged with attempted murder.

McCarty asked anyone with information about the shooting incident to contact the Lexington County Sheriff's Department at (803) 785-8230 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
