Richland County, SC (WLTX) - The motorcyclist killed in a collision early Sunday morning has been identified by the Richland County Coroner.
Coroner Gary Watts says 41-year-old Lyndon S. Bartholomew of Columbia died in a wreck that took place around 2:30 a.m. on Highway 277 near Parklane Road.

Officials say Bartholomew was operating a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a car in the rear.
Bartholomew was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the scene.
Watts says he died from multiple trauma associated with the crash.
According to officials, a helmet was found at the scene but they are unsure if he was wearing it at the time of the crash.
The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
