Music Farm Columbia has several bands booked and will open in early September.
Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Tin Roof in Columbia's Vista is getting a new neighbor.
"We just kind of hit it off, they understood our vision for building a music venue and we knew what they were capable of from their end," said Trae Judy with Music Farm.
Judy says they are partnering with Tin Roof to bring a 12,000 square foot concert space to Senate Street in downtown Columbia.
"We do all types of genres. Literally you may have a hip hop night, a rock n' roll night, a blue grass night and a comedian," said Judy.
The venue is expected to hold roughly one thousand people. The construction sounds will soon be replaced with the sounds from familiar bands along with some up and coming talent.
"We are still working on the first act but things are in the works. It will definitely be the first week of September," said Judy.
The construction also includes a beer garden. Judy says it will be open 4 to 5 days a week and will feature TV's and be home to many summer concerts.
"I think community wise people are ready for it. They are ready to a new nice venue in town that tries to do it the right way," said Judy.
This is the second music farm in South Carolina-- Music Farm Charleston was started 23 years ago.
