St. Lawrence Place is a 30-home community where homeless families can go to find the skills and shelter they need to break the cycle of homelessness.
Columbia, SC (WLTX)- St. Lawrence Place in Columbia is asking for some help ahead of the first day of school.
Many of the families that go through the program at St. Lawrence are homeless with at least one child under the age of 18. Family members in the program must be employed full-time or part-time and must be drug and alcohol free.
St. Lawrence Place Director, Lila Anna Sauls, says there are several families on the wait list and is proud of the program they have created.
"It works, if it didn't work and we didn't see people coming out on the other side feeling good about themselves I wouldn't do it," said Sauls.
St. Lawrence Place released this wish list to help ease the burden on their families ahead of the school year.
Many of these items will be distributed during their back to school bash on August 13, 2014.
St. Lawrence place address: 2400 Waites Road, Columbia SC 29204.
