COLUMBIA (WLTX) -- The City of Columbia Water Works has issued a boil water advisory for some customers in the Harbison area.
They advise the water customers of Settlers Way, Olde Stream Ct, Rapids Ford Ct, Pioneers Point Ct, and Cape Lookout Ct all in the Harbison area, and also a small portion of Columbiana Dr & Columbia Ave located in Richland County, to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking. Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
The City of Columbia has experienced an eight inch water main break. The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem.
