Columbia, SC (WLTX) - It's been seven years since the last3 Rivers Music Festival in Columbia. But the event is coming back this year with new flavors of music.

"We're excited about the kickoff," 3 Rivers Vice Chair Sandra Sims said. "We're looking forward to very full days of entertainment."

Whatever genre you like, you'll find it here.

"We have country music player Lee Greenwood, Musiq Soulchild for R&B and Jay Moss for Gospel," Sims said.

If you are a concertgoer on a tight budget, it won't put a huge dent in your wallet.

"The event is actually free this year," Sims said. "We are going to have some VIP areas where you can pay an additional fee to have VIP viewing with additional entertainment and drinks."

The festival will be held on Saturday, July 6th and on the 13th.

The money is coming from the hospitality tax through the City of Columbia and Richland County. Organizers of the 3 Rivers Music Festival also said there are some corporate sponsors.
