Columbia, SC (WLTX)--Dexter Stroman is the kind of guy you call when you need things to happen quickly.

He's also the right person for the job when you're trying to get a message across.

But unless you take the time to ask him, you'll never know that he has a incredible story of survival.

"I was diagnosed May 9, 2000 and that was a day that changed my life.", Stroman said.

He was 14 years old and what originally seemed like a case of strep throat turned out to be child hood leukemia in one of it's deadliest forms.

As his family was dealing with his diagnosis they were struck with another blow, two aunts both diagnosed with breast cancer within 18 months of Dexter's diagnosis.

The good news is that they're all doing well but, it took a lot to get Dexter to where he is today.

He spends many days as a production assistant for the Cynthia Hardy radio show hoping his story will help someone.

One man, one voice, one family but, out of it 3 survivors stories.
