By Kyle Porter:

I just wrote last night about how we love to soil great sporting events by chasing viral-y social media things on our phones and tablets and wouldn't you know the first thing I'm writing on Tuesday is a who to follow list for the Masters.

Golf is a bit different, though, in that you have breaks in the action. Downtime where you can peruse what various writers and personalities think about what your favorite golfers are doing.

There are so many different people to follow for so many different reasons so for your sake, and because I presume you don't want to follow everyone, I've broken this list down into categories.

Hope you enjoy.

2014 Masters Twitter follow list

News-y Division

Best for local flavor:Scott Michaux -- Has his finger on the pulse of Augusta.

Best for news:Jason Sobel -- If something big happened, he'll be the first to alert you. Good writer, too.

Best paper:Augusta Chronicle -- I used to take a physical copy (I know, right?!) to the course and read it. Great coverage. Their iPad and iPhone apps are great as well.

Best stats:Justin Ray -- A deliverer of the wackiest, most unusual, best statistics out there. A must follow.

Best international:Robert Lusetich -- An Australian with great insight on the Aussies and other international folks.

Best quotes:Doug Ferguson -- As the AP golf writer, he gets the best stuff.

Funniest:Alan Shipnuck -- He knows a ton of inside stuff and loves to cryptically spill it.

Greatest:Dan Jenkins -- Possibly unparalleled in any sport.

Blogger Division

Most humor:Shane Bacon -- As dry and funny as it gets when it comes to golf. Scratch player also, knows his stuff.

Best blogger:Luke Kerr-Dineen -- Has that "it" blogging factor. A closer.

Most underrated:Adam Sarson -- I've h/t him more times maybe than any other person out there. Always on top of things.

Best stats:Jamie Kennedy -- Really one of my top five "I will probably only ever know this guy on Twitter" follows. Always brings the goods.

Best colleague:Andrew DeWitt -- Keeps me in line, great feel for the historicism of the moment. Below average at pop-a-shot.

Boldest:Adam Fonseca -- Whatever it is you're probably thinking, he's not afraid to say aloud.

Equipment:Jonathan Wall -- Every detail of every club of every player in Augusta. He's really good at his job.

The "everyone else" Division

Player with most insight:Ian Poulter -- He took a "selfie curry" photo last night. So yeah, you get a lot of bahind-the-scenes stuff with him.

Style fiend:Cassie Stein -- She'll bring you all the colors and patterns you can handle from Augusta.

Other most underrated:No Laying Up -- A fantastic, hilarious, insightful follow.

Most passion:Ashley Mayo -- Nobody loves the game more than Mayo. Nobody.

Other Must follows:Geoff Shackelford, Matt Ginella, Stephanie Wei -- Couldn't really categorize these folks but you have to follow all of them.

For GIFs: Eye on Golf -- We'll have every shot for you.

I'm incredibly sorry if I like you and I missed you, it wasn't intentional, I promise.
