Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- For the second straight day, Irmo's Dustin Johnson shot a 1-under par 69, moving him to 2-under after 36 holes of the U.S. Open at Pinehurst.
Under normal circumstances, a 2-under par score at the halfway point would have a golfer either on top of the leaderboard of perhaps a shot of two out of the lead.
But reigning Players Champion Martin Kaymer is on the verge of lapping the field. His second straight 65 has him at 10-under par, a score no one predicted could happen on a treacherous track like Pinehurst No. 2.
