Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- News 19 WLTX contacted the PGA Tour requesting a response to the earlier reports that Dustin Johnson had been suspended by the PGA Tour.
A report this afternoon by golf.com, and quoted in a CBS Sports story we previously had published on this website, the article alleged an unnamed source claimed Johnson was suspended for six months for violation of the Tour's drug policies.
The story went on to quote their source, claiming Dustin had tested positive for cocaine.
The official response we just received from the PGA Tour:
"With regard to media reports that Dustin Johnson has been suspended by the PGA TOUR, this is to clarify that Mr. Johnson has taken a voluntary leave of absence and is not under a suspension by the PGA TOUR."
