Lexington, SC (WLTX) --- Like clockwork, Louise Brown is at JC's Lexington Bowl every Tuesday where she continues her participating in a sport that she first took up 38 years ago.
But this Tuesday was not a typical day at the lanes for Miss Brown who celebrated her 90th birthday with a special party. But after some laughs, cake and cola, it was time to practice.
Miss Brown says it was always her goal stay active and that philosophy has not changed . In fact, bowling is not just an occasional hobby for her. League games have been known to bring out the competitor in Miss Brown.
"She really gets upset if she does not bowl good," said Lois Pleasant from Lexington. "She puts it on herself if she is not doing good and we have to calm her down."
Miss Brown says it bothers her if she isn't performing well in a game because she feels like she is letting her partners down.
But those moments are just part of what makes her a quality bowler who inspires her colleagues.
"She still amazes me," said J.C. Williams, owner of J.C.'s Lexington Bowl.
" She is one fantastic person when it comes to being around these ladies and the comradere she has and the love she has for them and this sport."
