CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Former Clemson quarterback Chad Kelly apologized for his behavior with the Tigers and believes he can learn from the experience.
Kelly issued a statement Wednesday through his uncle, Dan Kelly, the vice president of Jim Kelly Inc. Chad Kelly is the nephew of former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly.
Chad Kelly was dismissed from the team Monday by Clemson coach Dabo Swinney for a pattern of conduct detrimental to the team. Kelly argued with coaches on the sidelines of Saturday's Orange and White game. Previous Coverage:Chad Kelly Dismissed from Team
Kelly, 20, says he's apologized to Clemson's coaches and is disappointed how he handled himself, saying he let "emotions get the best of me."
Kelly says he believes he'll use this incident to grow as an athlete, a student and a person.
